Network Analysis Begins across Poland"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Growing Interest in Biomethane in Poland Has Prompted the Gas Transmission System Operator in Poland &#8211; Gaz-System, to Launch a Biomethane Market Study. It Aims to Accurately Estimate the Production Potential in Poland, Analyze Plans, and Identify where Biomethane Plants Can be Connected to the Transmission Network. <\/h5>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The coming years could be groundbreaking for Poland regarding the gas market situation. This is all due to developing technologies related to biomethane and biogas production. In Europe, the number of such installations is steadily growing, as clearly shown by the numbers &#8211; over 20,000 operating biogas plants and approximately 1.6 biomethane plants. In Poland, only the first biomethane plant has been opened, and there are about 180. However, the potential is enormous &#8211; up to several thousand such facilities. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Biomethane? Can Cover Half of Gas Demand<\/h5>\n\n<p>The National Energy and Climate Plan (KPEiK) assumes that the national biomethane production potential is up to 8 billion m\u00b3 &#8211; if implemented, it would cover 46 percent of Poland&#8217;s natural gas demand (8 out of 17.4 billion m\u00b3).<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>In Poland, the biomethane market is just taking shape and is in its early stages of development, therefore it needs more attention and coordinated actions on many levels, including those that will create conditions enabling biomethane transmission using existing infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Biomethane Market Study<\/h5>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Gaz-System, Poland&#8217;s gas transmission system operator, plans to conduct a biomethane market study that will allow:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accurate estimation of biomethane production potential in Poland<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analysis of plans and possibilities for connecting new facilities to the transmission network <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assessment of consumer interest in biomethane delivery using the national transmission network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">They Will Indicate Potential Locations<\/h5>\n\n<p>As announced, the study will take the form of a survey, which has been divided thematically according to the nature of activities of entities involved in biomethane market development in Poland. Completed surveys can be sent until July 31, 2025, to <a href=\"mailto:biometan@gaz-system.pl\">biometan@gaz-system.pl<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>It was emphasized that the survey results will also be used to identify potential locations for Collection Points where biomethane can be introduced into the transmission network. Gaz-System is a strategic company for the Polish economy, responsible for natural gas transmission and manages the most important gas pipelines in Poland and the Baltic Pipe subsea pipeline.
