Who we are and what we do

We started when biomethane in Poland was still just a vision. Today, we implement real projects, combining knowledge from energy, chemistry, and agriculture. We are a team of specialists who know how to turn an idea into a working installation – from a “blank page” to a complete facility.

Necessity is the mother of invention

This saying perfectly reflects the beginnings of our company.

Today, the biomethane market is beginning to develop dynamically – dozens, and perhaps even hundreds of plants producing this gas so vital to our economy will be built in Poland. However, in 2021, when we started our operations, this wasn’t so certain. While biomethane plants were already common in many European countries and worldwide, they were still missing in our backyard. Finally, this great opportunity was also recognized in Poland, where the first “pioneers” began taking steps in this direction.

Our History

Reasons for establishing a dedicated company

The beginnings of biomethane in Poland had their difficulties. Undoubtedly, besides regulatory and formal limitations, the challenge for future investors was the lack of quality projects, particularly those with administrative decisions that would enable the implementation of such ventures.

There was also a lack of professional entities that could prepare the construction of biomethane production facilities. This was mainly due to the fact that such activities require appropriately broad competencies in many different areas such as investment project management, process technology, and agriculture.

Another missing yet extremely important element of the investment puzzle included suitable properties located in appropriate locations away from buildings with access to gas distribution networks, as well as experience in implementing large and complex projects, especially for the energy and fuel industry.

Achieving such capabilities requires selecting specialists from many industries including chemical, agricultural, energy and linear investment implementation, urban planning, as well as cooperation with technology suppliers and designers, and effective management of such projects.
And above all, selecting people who can talk to people, understand their needs and concerns, because there is no successful biomethane project without cooperation with the local community

Year 2021 - establishment of Green-en

Faced with a challenge that many might consider too bold, we decided to act and take up the gauntlet! That's how, in 2021, Green-en was born - from passion, experience, and the conviction that change begins with the decision to take action!

Its founder had been commissioning new power plant projects in various parts of the world since 2007, and since 2011, he had been using his gained experience to build new capacities in Poland. He developed projects for new methane-powered power units. He prepared investments from the concept “blank page” stage to construction commencement, while simultaneously creating teams servicing large energy units, which successfully maintain them to this day.

In subsequent years, he also developed projects for large chemical installations requiring special attention to production safety, both for workers and nearby residents.

Years of experience in various industries allowed us to understand well the challenges associated with implementing complex projects. Thanks to this, we understand how much attention smaller installations, such as biomethane production plants, also require - especially in terms of care for employees and, above all, the local community.

From vision to cooperation - how we create Poland's biomethane map

The first period of the company's operation focused on deepening knowledge about technology, initial attempts to adapt it to national realities, as well as establishing contacts with substrate suppliers, offices and utility operators, and most importantly with residents, who are the most important factor determining the success of the venture.

In 2023, a new partner joined the company, bringing unique knowledge, tools, and experience for the best possible selection of locations for new plants. This modern approach allows us to locate installations in a way that best fits into the surroundings and maximizes benefits for local communities.

Biomethane instead of deposits - a new opportunity for agricultural municipalities

Biomethane instead of deposits - a new opportunity for agricultural municipalities

We want to jointly create the best investments that will allow local residents to become producers of methane, which serves both as fuel and as a raw material for the chemical industry. It’s widely known that having natural deposits like coal, oil, or gas is a great benefit for a municipality. This is evidenced by the lists of the wealthiest municipalities in Poland. Biomethane gives such an opportunity also to municipalities that don’t have such resources but have developed agriculture in their surroundings, especially livestock farming or agri-food processing.

Biomethane gives municipalities without natural deposits a similar chance for development and enrichment as those that have such deposits!

We develop projects and our team of specialists

The company currently runs projects in over half of the country - at various stages of development.

We are developing dynamically, increasing both our internal resources and collaborating with leading industry partners in design, technology, administration, and many other areas. Our team consists of experienced specialists from various fields: technology, agriculture, property acquisition, investment development, architecture and urban planning, energy, and chemistry.

Through technology, urban planning, and project management to people and with people - in our DNA we combine expert knowledge with management and honest approach to make biomethane work locally and thus nationwide.

Biomethane - we build it together

Green-en is people - working with people and for people.

Our projects are created in cooperation with local communities because we understand that true value comes from working together toward a common goal. By building biomethane production facilities, we invest in regional development and the security of their residents, because long-term partnership is the foundation of success and guarantee of every venture’s success.

We believe that lasting success comes from cooperation with the local community - not from acting above their heads.

Green-en management

Experience and reliability you can count on.

Maciej Kropidłowski
General Director and founder of Green-en

Since 2007, he has been involved in planning and implementing investment projects for the energy and chemical industries, starting from work at Siemens A.G. and power plant projects, through the largest oil sector concern in Central and Eastern Europe, where he was responsible for developing chemical and energy projects as well as maintaining energy operations, including implementing energy projects for own needs and developing offshore wind energy. From 2019, Maciej developed chemical and energy projects for Synthos S.A., Europe’s largest producer of rubber and polystyrene, as well as project management structures, then started his own business and supported companies such as Polish construction market leader Erbud S.A. in developing offers and acquiring energy transformation projects, particularly in biomethane, hydrogen, and recycling.

Sebastian Przekwas
General Director and founder of Grunt Guru, shareholder and investor in Green-en

Entrepreneur and innovator. Associated with the internet industry for 20 years. Developed and sold two own businesses. One of them is a leader in online sales of ready-made house projects. Co-creator of many technology startups. Technology enthusiast. Active in the Proptech industry for 2 years. Creates innovative Grunt Guru platform for land management in Poland. The company specializes in land real estate trading, including land development processes. Created the PSA tool based on GIS (geographic information system) data, which uses algorithms to identify optimal locations for specified parameters. This allows Green-en to reach the best locations with any defined parameters throughout the country.

I supply corn silage and receive digestate. First, I have a reliable outlet with stable prices, and second, after distribution costs, I have ecological fertilizer

We've found that these solutions are modern. We decided there was no such risk that it would disturb residents. Today the installation is functioning and we're satisfied. This is ecology, farmers earn from sales, and the municipality has income

An agricultural biogas plant means local energy security, stabilization of farmers' income, increased value of processed production, stable energy independent of weather conditions, excellent digestate as fertilizer - a natural water accumulator in the soil
